Annual Exhibition 2021
Despite all the challenges covid has thrown at us these past two years, we had an extremely good outcome from our Annual exhibition this year. We once again displayed a number of works at the Banstead Community Hall.
Social distancing measure may have been in place but that didn’t stop a grand total of 462 people visiting us, it great to see the local community supporting our exhibition.

As always we showcased our member’s works. We had over 150 painting, drawing and media works on display. The quality of work shines thought in many different styles and subjects.
We also had browsers of unframed work and a number of beautiful cards, which as always were very popular. By the end of the three days we had sold a total of 36 paintings.

As we have in previous years, we asked members of the public to vote for their favourite painting at the exhibition and this year winner was Louise Collins with ‘Between ewe and me’. It really is a great painting with so much character. Well Done!

We would like to thank everyone who has supported us during our exhibition. We had a fantastic time and look forward to inviting you all back again next year.

Helen Smart with 'Wild Swimming'
Joint second was Louise Collins with ‘Squirreling away for a Rainy day’ and Richard Law with ‘Lady in Red’. Third place was Jenny Beard with ‘Morning Mist.’ Well done everyone.

Alongside the main Exhibition, we welcomed back the “Young Artists of Banstead Exhibition.”We invited local schools to take part to showcase the art work of their students. We were very impressed with the talent of these young artists.

We also had a public vote and the winner was Anaiah for the under 7 and Rosie for the over 8s. This part of the exhibition was sponsored by ‘Pullingers Art Shop’, who donated prizes for each of the participating students. These prizes were presented to the students by the Mayor of Reigate and Banstead. Well done to all the students and thank you to the teachers that made it happen.
We were very sad to hear that Mike Jacobs passed away at the end of August. Mike was a valued member of Banstead Art Group for many years. He will be truly missed by us all especially for his humour and friendship. In his memory, we displayed a number of his paintings and hand painted Christmas cards. Three of Mike’s paintings sold during the exhibition and all the proceeds will be donated to his nominated charity
– The Royal Marsden.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported us during our exhibition and we look forward to inviting you all back again next year!
