Annual Exhibition 2024
Annual Exhibition 2023
Thank you to everyone who has supported us during our 2023 Exhibition.

This year, we celebrated our 76th year in showcasing the work of our members and it was great to see that almost 500 people visited us during this time.

Every year, we invite our members to enter up to 8 framed paintings each. This is a great opportunity for our artists to showcase different aspects of their practice. We had a total of 186 paintings, drawings and media works on display. The quality of work shines through in many different styles and subjects. We also had browsers of unframed work and a number of beautiful cards which, as always, were very popular. By the end of the three days, we had sold a total of 28 paintings.
As we have in previous years, we asked members of the public to vote for their favourite painting at the exhibition and this year’s winner was
Helen Smart with 'Wild Swimming'
Joint second was Louise Collins with ‘Squirreling away for a Rainy day’ and Richard Law with ‘Lady in Red’. Third place was Jenny Beard with ‘Morning Mist.’ Well done everyone.
Alongside the main Exhibition, we welcomed back the “Young Artists of Banstead Exhibition.”We invited local schools to take part to showcase the art work of their students. We were very impressed with the talent of these young artists.
We also had a public vote and the winner was Anaiah for the under 7 and Rosie for the over 8s. This part of the exhibition was sponsored by ‘Pullingers Art Shop’, who donated prizes for each of the participating students. These prizes were presented to the students by the Mayor of Reigate and Banstead. Well done to all the students and thank you to the teachers that made it happen.
We were very sad to hear that Mike Jacobs passed away at the end of August. Mike was a valued member of Banstead Art Group for many years. He will be truly missed by us all especially for his humour and friendship. In his memory, we displayed a number of his paintings and hand painted Christmas cards. Three of Mike’s paintings sold during the exhibition and all the proceeds will be donated to his nominated charity
– The Royal Marsden.
We would like to thank everyone who has supported us during our exhibition and we look forward to inviting you all back again next year!
